From the Desk of Dr. Campbell:
Integrative Life Solutions is proud to announce the first full-service Clinical Infrared Thermography Service in the Triad.

Our service assures the proper preparation and temperature equilibration necessary for diagnostic thermographic images.  The images undergo post-processing and clinical interpretation to give you and your medical provider the scan report and images needed to guide your therapy and give the best possible result.

One of the most frequent uses for Thermographic imaging is the detection, prognosis, and follow-up of breast cancer in both women and men.   A review of 15 large-scale studies showed Breast Thermography to be 90% sensitive and 90% specific for cancer of the breast. Adding X-ray mammography and clinical exam increases the sensitivity to 98%.  The amount of thermographic abnormality is shown to be directly proportional to the aggressiveness of the cancer.  And return towards thermographic normality indicates that a cancer therapy is effective, whether it be surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or an alternative method. (References available)

Thermography can also detect spinal disorders.  Clinical Thermography can document differences in temperature caused by pressure on the spinal nerves, and follow-up scans can show the resolution of the problem.  Musculo-skeletal and joint inflammation also becomes visible thermographically, whether it is caused by trauma, overuse, crystal deposits, or a rheumatoid process.  The extent of the inflammation as well as the resolution of the problem can be plainly seen on Thermograms.   And Thermography is the only way to document Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy).

We invite you to come and visit our facilities.  Appointments may be made by calling (336) 778-1950.  We accept all types of payment, and provide you with a detailed receipt including ICD diagnosis and procedure codes so you can obtain reimbursement from your medical insurance.   An order for thermography from your medical provider on a prescription blank will facilitate insurance reimbursement.

Integrative Life Solutions hopes to hear from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

James Stewart Campbell, M.D.

         What is Breast Thermography

·
A diagnostic procedure of infrared imaging.

·
It is based on the principle that chemical and blood vessel activity in both pre-

cancerous tissue and the area surrounding a developing breast cancer is almost
always higher than in normal breast tissue.

·
It may detect abnormalities 8-10 years before any other method.

·
Procedure is non invasive, emits absolutely no radiation, is painless; no contact
         with the body, no compression.

·
It is safe for pregnant or nursing women.

·
It is a very comfortable procedure, no health risks.

·
Employs accurate, state of the art equipment.

·
It does not replace mammography.  Thermography technology is different and
         yields different information.

·        It is FDA approved.

Suspicious Breast Thermography

Normal Breast Thermography

Why have a Thermography exam?

One in eight women will get breast cancer at some point in their life.  When Thermography is added to a woman’s regular breast health checkup, a 61% increase in survival rates has been shown.

When Thermography is used as part of a multimodal approach (clinical examination, mammography and Thermography) 98% of early-stage breast cancers can be detected.

Studies show that an abnormal thermographic image is the single most important marker of high risk for developing breast cancer, ten times more significant than a family history of the disease.

                        Who should have Thermograms?

Thermograms can benefit all women.   They may be particularly useful for young women who want to monitor their breast health before the recommended age of 40 and can be safely performed on pregnant or nursing women.

Measuring inflammation through thermal imaging is a proactive, preventative method for detecting diseases which significantly improves your chances for longevity and good health.

                           What does a Thermogram show?

Thermography is an imaging of the temperatures on the surface of the breast.   Certain breast problems tend to produce recognizable thermal patterns while benign conditions such as fibrocystic breasts and benign cysts/lumps tend to show no thermal activity.

Women with dense or fibrocystic breasts, where mammography is of little value, will benefit from thermographic monitoring.

Annual Thermograms allow you to map changes in the body’s heat patterns over time and can alert you to any deviations from your norm.   Mapping your health annually helps you detect changes often before disease develops.

                           Who reads the Thermography Exam?

Your results will be reported quickly by a licensed physician, James Campbell, MD, Director of the Thermography Service.  If mailed, you will receive a printed report in black and white plus a CD Disc with the report in full color, or the digital full color report can be emailed in PDF format to your personal email address.  Explanations of any problems or recommendations are always included in the reports.

All of your Thermograms (breast images) are kept on record and once your stable thermal pattern has been established any changes can be detected during your routine annual studies.

An annual Thermography exam is recommended. These quidelines should be considered along with your background and medical history.
